Cultural Restaurants I've visisted lately
This quarter Mandy, Margaret and I began our weekly outings to various cultured eating establishments. We originally limited ourselves to ethinc establishments, but have decieded to branch out and include any sort of atypical dining experience. My goal is to order something unique to the establishment/culture and not just get the same food i get everywhere.

- schmidt's (3-19-02)German Buffet style. Lunch was a much better deal than dinner. It was good. Not a good idea if your stomach is weak. I reccomend the applesause.[~$7]
- Blue Nile (3-19-02)Ethiopian Buffet style lunch. It was good. I didnt really distinguish much between this and Indian food. The bread was the most different and they were good, though I think i may still prefer naan.[~$7]
- La Chatelaine (3-3-02) French Spinach quiche and blueberry cheese cake. The food all looked good. The quiche was fine, the cheesecake was excellent. Everything I saw looked good, but it wasn't financially feasible to get it all. Any item or two was reasonable, but a hearty amount of food would cost a lot. The salad, soup and bakery items all tempted me. [~$7]
- The Cajun Place (2-12-02) Cajun Shrimp Creole with rice and corn bread. Good. Good deal for $5 you get rice, entre, bread, drink. There was a little less entre than i would have liked, but just giving me less rice would have worked too. Not too spicy, with a nice distinct taste. [~$5]
- Wild Oats (2-9-02) Organic/Vegetarian Tomatoe soup and ceasar salad (ok so the dressing wasnt veggie). Good food. I didnt really notice a difference in it being organic. Maybe that's the point and i'm just supposed to appriciate that i'm not eating pesticides. The soup was very good. The salad (which I assembled myself) was all right. I take responcibility for the salad's downfalls...some things just dont belong in a ceasar salad [~$5]
- Apollos (1-xx-02) Greek Gyro for dinner. I guess I had just decieded sometime ago that I didnt like gyros, without ever trying them. I ordered one (minus the lettuce) and enjoyed it. The meet seemed kinda greazy, but was good. [~$5]
- Lemongrass (1-x-02) Asian Bistro Dumplings for an appetizer and shrimp something for dinner. It didnt seem particularly ethinc and instead just had the feeling of a good dinner. The food was good nonetheless. [~$20]
